Story
Ivalice—a kingdom blessed by the light of the gods and ruled by the Two-headed Lion. A year after her defeat to Ordallia in the Fifty Years' War, the king succumbed to malady, leaving a mere boy of two to ascend the throne.
Whoever was named regent would rule in truth, and thus emerged two rival candidates: dukes Goltanna and Larg, whose deeds during the war had earned them great renown. Goltanna the Black Lion and Larg the White Lion were destined to clash, and the resulting conflict would come to be known as the War of the Lions.
Against this backdrop appear Ramza, third son of House Beoulve, one of Ivalice's leading military families, and his childhood companion Delita, a commoner raised amongst nobles. As they endeavor to chart a course through this tumultuous age, a mighty current draws them ever closer to the abyss.
Two Versions: Enhanced and Classic
With improved graphics, fully voiced dialogue, and refined gameplay, the enhanced version provides the perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of Ivalice. Along with the fine-tuning of several features and battle mechanics, the inclusion of the more accessible "Squire" difficulty setting makes the enhanced version an excellent starting point for first-time players.
The classic version unites the graphics and gameplay of the original 1997 version with the renowned War of the Lions translation for a unique way to experience this beloved title.

Characters

Ramza Beoulve
Voice Actor: Joe Pitts
A knight apprentice of the Royal Military Akademy at Gariland, hailing from Eagrose. House Beoulve has long been a respected military family, and for generations has produced commanders of the Order of the Northern Sky.
Delita Heiral
Voice Actor: Gregg Lowe
Delita is Ramza's childhood friend and knight apprentice of the Royal Military Akademy at Gariland. Born to a farming family in Eagrose, the demesne of House Beoulve, Delita and his sister were taken in by the late Lord Barbaneth after losing both parents to the Black Death. Despite his low birth, he was allowed into the Akademy at Lord Barbaneth's request.
Alma Beoulve
Voice Actor: Emily Carey
The youngest of the four Beoulve children, Alma is Ramza's full sister, and is possessed of a bright and cheerful demeanor that charms all those around her. She attends the Eagrose Preparatory Akademy, and, like her brother, was born of a different mother than the elder Beoulve siblings, Dycedarg and Zalbaag.
Princess Ovelia Atkascha
Voice Actor: Eleanor Bennett
One of the proposed heirs to succeed the Ivalician throne. Ovelia was adopted by the late King Ondoria III after he lost his second son, but is actually trueborn daughter to the former monarch Denamda IV and half sister to Ondoria III.
Agrias Oaks
Voice Actor: Hannah Melbourn
A noble and fiercely loyal female knight serving in the Lionsguard, the Crown's personal shields. Tensions between dukes Larg and Goltanna after the death of Ondoria III led to fears for Princess Ovelia's safety, and the Council dispatched Lady Agrias to Orbonne Monastery as a guard. She sympathizes with the princess for having to live a sequestered life.
Count Cidolfus Orlandeau
Voice Actor: Timothy Watson
Often called the Thunder God, Count Orlandeau is commander of the Order of the Southern Sky and holds land in Zeltennia. He went undefeated in the Fifty Years' War, fighting alongside Barbaneth and Zalbaag Beoulve and their Northern Order, and was greatly feared by the Ordallians.
Duke Druksmald Goltanna
Voice Actor: Kevin McNally
The ruler of Zeltennia. Duke Goltanna, like Duke Larg, is descended from the line of King Denamda II, the monarch responsible for the Fifty Years' War. His standard is the Black Lion—one head of the royal family's twin-headed lion crest.
Argath Thadalfus
Voice Actor: Ben Allen
Born at Lefondes in Limberry, Argath is a knight apprentice in the household of Marquis Elmdore. His family was brought to ruin during the Fifty Years' War, and it is Argath's ambition to bring honor back to the Thadalfus name by becoming a knight. This obsession causes him to act without regard for others, giving him a selfish reputation.
Duke Bestrald Larg
Voice Actor: Huw Parmenter
Liege lord of Gallionne and trueborn brother to Queen Louveria, wife of King Ondoria III. Known as the White Lion due to his house standard, the duke's lordship and familial connections have earned him a reputation as the most powerful man in Ivalice.
Orran Durai
Voice Actor: Matthew Duckett
A mage in the service of the Order of the Southern Sky. Orran's father by birth was a comrade of the order's lord commander, Count Orlandeau, but died in battle towards the end of the Fifty Years' War. Orran was accepted into House Orlandeau at a young age, and the count later sent him to be adopted by Baron Durai, his trusted retainer.
